Malaysia Introduces GM Regulation

While Malyasia does not intend to stem imports of biotech products, it has proposed a biosafety bill that will be debated in Parliament in June. In the proposed bill, a new government panel must approve any food products including animal feed, crops, or animals that contain genetically modified (GM) organisms. Also under the bill, importers must label food products containing GM contents.
