Requiem Registered For High-Value Crops

California, US-based AgraQuest Inc. has received EPA registration for its new insecticide REQUIEM, which has demonstrated control of whiteflies, aphids, mites, thrips, and other pests in more than 600 trials and grower demos, according to the company.

The registration for use on a wide variety of high-value fruit and vegetable crops including tomatoes, peppers, brassica, strawberries, bulb vegetables, grapes, cucurbits, select leafy vegetables, and others, is effective immediately. REQUIEM will be sold throughout the US in 2009, followed by select global markets in 2010.

REQUIEM possesses a unique mode of action, says the company, making it ideal for managing resistance. AgraQuest adds that the product has minimal to no impact on beneficial insects, controls sucking pest populations at all stages of their lifecycle, and holds a short, 4-hour restricted entry interval and 0-day preharvest interval.
