Russia: Wheat Up, Barley Down

Recent estimates indicate a 7.1% increase in wheat production and a 9.4% decrease in barley production over 2006 in Russia, for a total grain production figure of 79.7 million metric tons (MMT).

According to the US Dept. of Agriculture’s Foreign Agriculture Service (USDA-FAS), 2007 production will reach 48.1 MMT of wheat and 16.4 MMT of barley.
