Sumitomo Insecticide Approved China

Pyridalyl was first launched in Japan in 2004 and was approved in India last year. Sumitomo is also seeking EU and US registration for the insecticide.

Sumitomo plans to expand its sales in China after being reassured by Chinese government efforts to crack down on counterfeit products and provide intellectual property protection. The company estimates that the market for foreign patented pesticides in China to be worth US $165 million, and aims for a 10% share of this sector.
