Willowood Group Appoints New CEO for Brazil Subsidiary

Willowood Group has announced its board has unanimously approved the appointment of Marcos Couto Gaio as CEO of Willowood Agriscience Representação Comercial Ltda (Brazil), its wholly owned subsidiary.

Vijay Mundhra, Chairman of Willowood Ltd., said, “I am pleased to welcome Mr. Marcos to Willowood family. Marcos’ experience in a leadership role across the globe — combined with his 30-year professional journey with companies like Nufarm and Dupont and strong core values — make Marcos the perfect choice to lead Willowood Brazil Operations.

“Marcos brings with him a depth of operational transformation plans, business execution expertise, and knowledge of agribusiness — all of which would be hugely impactful in Willowood’s future journey,” Mundhra adds. “He has an expertise in leadership and strategic planning of various regional and global growth projects and this will help develop a strategic vision and go-to market strategy for Willowood in Brazil along with building a team to service its clients with crop specific portfolios.”

During interactions about Innovation and Sustainability at Willowood, Mundhra has also added that Gaio has already demonstrated an impressive leadership style, entrepreneurial mindset, and a strong commitment to strengthening organizational culture and he is coming with a revelation which will lead to innovation in process optimization, achieving significant results to strengthen sustainability in agribusiness.

“Willowood is a fully backward integrated company with its own R&D base, Synthesis, and Formulation plants, and a strong focus on creating Intellectual Property,” Gaio said. “I am honored to have been elected as CEO and also very excited at this opportunity.
