The presentation of the award occurred at the culmination of the AgriBusiness Global (ABG) Biostimulant CommerceCon event, which was co-located with the Trade Summit in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Barrett Smith, Agronomist and Sales Manager with Bio Huma Netics, accepted the award on behalf of the company.

Rebecca Bartels, business director for ABG introduced the award and led a panel discussion among the three finalists, which also included Stoller USA (represented by Dale Hanke, marketing Director) and Agroenzymas (represented by Felix Acosta, director of strategy and new business). The trio discussed the groundbreaking distribution strategies, product innovations, and marketing techniques that set them apart as well as how they’re preparing for the changes to come in the industry.

This prestigious recognition is presented to the company in the biostimulant sector that has leveraged product innovation that addressed the global biostimulant industry challenges and unique growth opportunities; successfully implemented a distribution strategy based on strategic partnerships, downstream value chain education, and key market identification and penetration; and executed a change-making marketing and communication campaign that took an emerging trend from a virtual unknown to a standard in the agribusiness marketplace. Judging was executed by a panel of experts comprised of the AgriBusiness Global Biostimulant CommerceCon supporting partners, and AgriBusiness Global parent company Meister Media Worldwide marketing and communication executives.

“We are pleased to present the AgriBusiness Global Industry Impact Award to Bio Huma Netics,” said Eric Davis, managing director of the AgriBusiness Group, Meister Media Worldwide. “The company has shown a dedication to the three pillars on which the award is based — and we’re proud to use our platform to recognize the positive change their company has made for the product segment and agriculture as a whole.”

Bio Huma Netics was founded in 1973 when Dr. Jordan Smith and Don Organ made the first agricultural application of a unique humate material. This extract contains Bio Huma Netics’ Micro Carbon Technology and is the foundation ingredient used in all HUMA GRO, HUMA GRO TURF, and PROBIOTIC SOLUTIONS products. Micro Carbon Technology is combined with other beneficial components to create over 70 products the company produces to improve soils, improve plant nutrition, and water treatment. The name Bio Huma Netics signifies the study and application of the relationship (Netics) between the Earth (Huma) and living organisms (Bio).

“I was in Mexico at the time. I let out a yell. I was very surprised,” says Lyndon Smith, president and CEO, upon learning the company was named the winner of the award. “We’ve been around a long time. My father was a Ph.D. plant physiologist. He helped found the company.

“Here we are 45 years later and it’s nice to receive that recognition and recognize that he was way ahead of his time in terms of what they developed and the technology that they came up with.”
