Evonik, Interoceanic Corporation Sign Supply Agreement for Ammonium Sulfate
Evonik has entered into an agreement to supply blueSulfate, a liquid ammonium sulfate (8-0-0-9) solution from its site in Mobile, AL, to Interoceanic Corporation (IOC). This agreement supports Evonik’s strategy to focus on its core business in Animal Nutrition by marketing one of the co-products of its methionine production network via IOC. Interoceanic Corporation is a marketer of fertilizer and industrial chemicals with a huge terminal network and multi-modal transportation fleet in North America, linking producers and end users.
This joint effort allows to bring to the market valuable nitrogen fertilizer that meets the needs of U.S. farmers, contributing to the circularity of macronutrients in agriculture. Evonik manufactures liquid ammonium sulfate (8-0-0-9) solution and a potassium-based fertilizer, AgraLi, as co-products from its methionine production.
