2026年印度可持续作物科学大会(ICSCE Delhi 2026)圆满落幕,汇聚1500多名全球代表,共同塑造可持续作物科学的未来。

The 24th edition of the International Crop Science Conference & Exhibition (ICSCE Delhi 2026), organized by the PMFAI Agribusiness Foundation, successfully concluded at the Hotel Pullman New Delhi Aerocity, New Delhi, India, on the 25th and 26th of June 2026.

The two-day event commenced auspiciously on the morning of June 25, 2026, with a welcome address delivered by PMFAI President, Mr. Pradip Dave. In his inaugural speech, Mr. Dave underscored the event’s growing global importance and its historic journey since its inception in 1997 in Mumbai. As a definitive international trade platform, the ICSCE continues to foster strategic business relationships and cross-border partnerships among global companies operating within the agrochemical, agri-biological, and allied sectors.

Mr. Dave highlighted the challenging market situation currently facing the agri-input sector. He flagged critical disruptions caused by the escalation of the Gulf conflict from February 2026, which has heavily impacted non-oil maritime supply chains. The ongoing corridor restrictions have injected severe volatility into the procurement of critical raw materials, fertilizers, LNG, sulphur, and petrochemical feedstocks, badly impacting domestic manufacturing ecosystems.

Despite these severe disruptions, Mr. Dave observed that our industry remains central to global food security – Faced with a surging population, shrinking arable land, and climate disruptions, maximizing output from existing land is our only sustainable path forward. Global estimates show that roughly 20% of crop output is lost annually to pests, weeds, and diseases. In this landscape, modern crop protection plays a vital role in enhancing food security and controlling food-related inflationary pressures.

Mr. Dave further emphasized that climate change is already impacting agricultural productivity, threatening food systems with extreme weather patterns that are only expected to intensify. Strengthening the resilience of crops to climate-related stressors like higher temperatures and drought is crucial. Agrochemicals and biologicals are indispensable in this mitigation effort, offering a viable, evidence-based path to enhance yield and maintain a sustainable agricultural system by protecting crops against these severe weather impacts.
