Aceto Corp 4Q Profit Up 90%

Fourth quarter profits for US-based Aceto Corp., a distributor of chemicals and generic drugs, climbed 90% due to increased sales of Health Sciences products and weed killers. The company reported a profit of $8 million — up from $4.2 million a year earlier. Revenue grew 20%, to $104.7 million from $87.2 million last year. Health Sciences revenue rose 34.9% as sales increased in the US and overseas, while Crop Protection sales grew 19.5% on better sales of herbicides used on peanuts and potatoes.
