DuPont and BASF Settle Patent Dispute

WILMINGTON, Delaware, and FLORHAM PARK, New Jersey, US — DuPont and BASF Plant Science have reached an agreement on a patent infringement dispute, reports PR Newswire. DuPont and BASF filed suit against each other in June 2009 in US Federal Court in the District of Delaware, seeking to enforce intellectual property rights relating to biotechnology traits, including traits that provide tolerance to ALS herbicides.

The two companies have reached an agreement to cross-license patents. BASF and DuPont will dismiss their claims and counterclaims against each other in both of the pending cases.
