Arysta Licenses Global Fluoxastrobin Rights from Bayer

TOKYO – Arysta LifeScience will build on its portfolio of strobilurin products with the acquisition of global rights to Bayer CropScience’s fluoxastrobin fungicide. Arysta plans to market its Disarm and Evito brand families, which are already established in the United States, Canada and Japan, and it will also develop new fluoxastrobin-based products in all of its six business units around the world.

The deal excludes seed treatments and certain proprietary Bayer mixtures; financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“As Arysta LifeScience seeks to be a relevant player in the fungicide market, fluoxastrobin will play a key role as the foundation of the company’s fungicide portfolio,” Arysta LifeScience CEO Wayne Hewett said in a press release. “Licensing the global rights to fluoxastrobin is a major milestone for Arysta LifeScience. It strengthens our proprietary portfolio with a compound that has strong intellectual property and demonstrates the company’s commitment to investing in the long-term sustainability of the business.”

Fluoxastrobin provides broad-spectrum disease control and has demonstrated excellent plant health properties, according to Arysta. The fungicide is approved for corn, soybeans, wheat, vegetables, sugarcane, pome fruit and turfgrass. Evito also earned US EPA approval on potatoes in March.
