DuPont, Valent Partner For Herbicide

Valent, a subsidiary of Japan-based Sumitomo Chemical, will license flumioxazin to DuPont, which will use the active ingredient in mixes with pre-emergence sulfonylurea herbicides for control of waterhemp, black nightshade, common ragweed, annual grasses, and weeds which have exhibited glyphosate resistance. DuPont hopes to have these products available in 2008.
