Marrone’s Regalia Maxx Receives International Registrations

U.S. biologicals company Marrone Bio Innovations Inc. said on Thursday that FMC, the Latin America distributor for its RegaliaMaxx biofungicide, has received new product registrations in El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras.

Panama and Mexico have already approved the use of Regalia Maxx in Latin America to control a wide variety of bacterial and fungal diseases across an array of agricultural crops, Marrone said.

Hector Absi, MBI Senior VP of Commercial Operations, commented, “These new registrations are an integral part of our global expansion plan for MBI products. We have seen strong reception for Regalia Maxx in Mexico and Panama through our partner FMC. We believe the product will fill a real need for growers in these newly registered countries as well. Latin America growers export a large portion of their production and Regalia Maxx, because of its exemption from maximum residue level tolerances, can help them manage the growing concerns about pesticide residues among importing countries.”

Regalia Maxx was also recently granted OMRI organic certification in Canada. Absi said, “The OMRI certification is critical for gaining sales in the rapidly expanding Canadian organic fruit and vegetable market. Canada’s $3.5 billion organic market is the fourth in the world, and is a very important market for us. Organic growers there can now use Regalia Maxx with complete confidence that it will help them meet consumer demand for high quality organic food in this fast growing category.”
