Los Mochis, located on the coast at the north end of Mexico’s Sinaloa region, is home to CAVE, S.A. Sinaloa is the largest district and the principal irrigated agricultural area of in Mexico, containing more than 70% of all irrigated land and producing sugar cane, cotton, rice, flowers and many types of vegetables. CAVE, S.A. is geared to providing crop protection, fertilizer and seed to the growers of the Sinaloa region.

Safety and readiness for any emergency is obvious at CAVE’s Los Mochis facility. Fire extinguishers are located throughout the facility, both inside the warehouse and outside on doors and walls facing the main product loading area. Emergency response drills are conducted with employees on a regular basis. CAVE meets with local fire, police and other emergency responders to go over the facility layout and product inventory.

“Every business should invest and have environmental protection policies,” says CAVE administrator Carlos Alberto Canez Guitierrez. “It’s a part of the social responsibility that we should have.”

“As a company, we’ve tried to make our clients conscious of the appropriate us of agrochemicals, with correct applications and doses, the use of quality products, protective equipment at the time of application and the use biological products when possible,” he says. “Agrochemicals are necessary for agricultural production, and the better we use them, the less problems we will have associated with their use.”
