Sanjay Sethi, Phoenix Group Honored with Sustainable Initiatives Award

During the recently held Meet the Farmers Conference 2017 at the Waldorf Astoria, Palm Jumeirah in Dubai, Sanjay Sethi, Director – Sustainability, Phoenix Global, a global value chain manager of commodities in the food staples and natural resource industries, was honored with the prestigious Sustainable Initiatives Award. Meet the Farmers Conference is an international conference on agriculture that serves as an international networking platform for large-scale agricultural commodity producers and buyers.

Based in Dubai, Sanjay Sethi was bestowed with the honor in recognition of Phoenix Global’s extensive work on sustainable agricultural practices in Africa, UAE, Eurasia, and South Asia, which has yielded social, economic, and environmental benefits. Sethi is a Sustainability and Impact investment leader developing and managing large commercial farms, agri-infrastructure and making the businesses more sustainable. Sethi is a trusted advisor to various governments, corporations, and investment funds with expertise recognized with awards including the Africa Food Prize 2013.

Sanjay Sethi undertook various infrastructure projects like setting up India’s first Mega Food Park and India’s first Free Trade Warehousing Zone. He conceived and implemented food security projects in Africa business and managed an impact investment fund for Africa.

In the past, he was recognized for his efforts in the realm of food security by the Government of Ras Al Khaimah, and by Governor Samuel Ortom, of Benue State, Nigeria, as the Minister of Commerce and Industry Nigeria.
