Canada Canola Council Names New VP

The Canola Council of Canada has a new vice-president of crop production, according to its Web site. Denise Maurice will be responsible for managing the agronomy team and industry issues related to production. Maurice has worked across the prairies in weed research and extension for government and in management of extension, crop protection programs and marketing with Westco, Agricore United and most recently Viterra. She led the development of the Certified Crop Advisor Certification program in Canada and has received many industry awards for her leadership.

“Denise is well known in the industry for her agronomic expertise, her dynamic presentations, and her ability to create innovative production resources for growers,” says CCC President JoAnne Buth. “I am pleased to welcome her to our team, and I know she will direct her considerable energy toward the industry’s 2015 targets.”

I am very proud to have the opportunity to lead this highly respected team.”
