China Canola Production Up
9 July 2008 Rapeseed (canola) production in China is expected to reach its highest level in the last three years, at 11.85 MMT for 2008, up 400,000MT from the previous year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA). The increased production is due mainly to increased planted area caused by high oilseeds prices,as well as MOA’s subsidy of US $21 per hectare for canola production.
