Certis Europe Gains Imazalil License

Imazalil has been developed in horticulture to control powdery mildew on such crops as tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, and many ornamentals, including roses. It also offers partial control of Botrytis cinerea in cucurbits and roses and Diplocarpon rosae in roses.

In addition, Certis already distributes a potato seed treatment under the Diabolo brand in the Netherlands, France, and Belgium. Registration also has recently been received in Germany, and sales are expected to start this season. The imazalil seed treatment provides protection against Helminthosporium solani, Polyscytalum pustulans, Phoma exigua var foveata, and Fusarium spp.

As a cereal seed treatment, imazalil is widely used, especially in barley, and is effective against Helminthosporium spp, Fusarium spp and Septoria spp. It also provides control of other diseases as part of broad spectrum combinations.

Another product under the agreement, Nectec Paste, is a treatment paste used for the protection of fruit trees at pruning. There is potential for further development of this product in protecting grafting sites in vines.
