ECCA Announces Second Crop Protection Regulatory Conference Amid Key EU Food Safety Reform Talks

At a pivotal moment for discussions on the European Commission’s Food and Feed Safety Simplification Omnibus, the European Crop Care Association (ECCA), representing Europe’s post-patent plant protection sector, has announced the second edition of the Crop Protection Regulatory Conference, taking place on 8-9 September 2026 at the Sheraton Brussels Airport Hotel.

The Crop Protection Regulatory Conference is Europe’s only industry forum connecting the post-patent plant protection sector with Brussels-based policymakers and regulators, dedicated to examining current and upcoming regulatory developments affecting European agriculture.

In 2025, the conference convened over 160 professionals from across the European plant protection and regulatory ecosystem – including farmers and agricultural stakeholders, manufacturers, industry representatives, EU regulatory officials, consultants and professionals representing research and academia.

“The [2025] conference marked a timely and much-needed forum dedicated specifically to the post-patent plant protection sector. It created a long-awaited industry networking platform in Brussels, bringing together a diverse range of stakeholders for meaningful in-person exchange, while also deepening understanding of the evolving European regulatory landscape for crop protection,” said Derek Oliphant, Director of AgbioInvestor, an attendee of the inaugural Crop Protection Regulatory Conference in 2025.

“As discussions on the Food and Feed Safety Simplification Omnibus are set to intensify in the coming months, the second edition of the Crop Protection Regulatory Conference comes at a particularly important moment for Europe’s agricultural sector,” said Monica Teixeira, President of ECCA. “The conference provides a much-needed platform to bring together policymakers, Member State authorities and stakeholders from across the value chain to exchange views, improve understanding of the evolving regulatory landscape and explore practical pathways towards implementation.”
