Stähler in Germany to Change Name to Cheminova

Stähler will be renamed “Cheminova Deutschland” at the start of 2013, as Cheminova moves to integrate the German subsidiary more fully into its operations.

Denmark-based Cheminova, which acquired the rest of the Stähler Group in July 2011, says pesticides in Germany will be sold under the new name as of Jan. 1, while Stähler headquarters will remain in Stade, Northern Germany.

“To rename the company is part of the concept to integrate and focus all activities of the former Stähler companies into the group of Cheminova A/S, Denmark,” according to a statement from Cheminova.

By pooling Stähler’s actives with Cheminova’s and the complementary product portfolios, Cheminova Deutschland will offer a broader spectrum of products in the future to German professional agriculture, the company said. In Germany, crucial syngeries have already been achieved by the merger with Cheminova, it said. These are increasing efficiencies for the usage of available capacities in production, formulation or refilling on different production facilities including Stade. The integration of Stähler in the development activities of Cheminova has helped launch new products in Germany in 2012 (e.g., Terminus = Fluazinam.)

Cheminova Deutschland will continue to be managed from the headquarters in Stade, Lower Saxony by a management team led by GM Martin Petersen.
