How is your company positioned to work through global disruption and deliver your products and services?
SML, formerly known as Sulphur Mills Limited, has been working on a select portfolio and is sufficiently cushioned in terms of supply chain disruptions through our long-term associations. At the same time, we are further strengthening our own technical synthesis base with some new molecules from the future pipeline’s perspective. Our core strength and focus is on advanced and differentiated formulations backed by patented technology platforms that enable us to be unique in the industry in terms of providing agricultural solutions as well as ensuring supply continuity.
What do you see as the biggest opportunity that will have a major impact in 2023?
Digital farming is in a developing phase and for sure will be a major game changer globally in years to come. Shipping and logistics have shown some relief finally coming out of the challenges of the last two years. At the same time, there is a certain preparedness in the world in terms of possible uncertainties of COVID and its subsequent impacts on logistics situations. Sustainability is the theme of every company today, and SML is aligned to this with a focus on product range as well as business models.
Do you have any new product launches or major developments?
SML has been on a launch spree over the last year with several unique product introductions. We launched four insecticides and two herbicides in the domestic market and introduced several products in crop protection and crop nutrition portfolio internationally. In our endeavor to educate farmers across India, we have set up advisory centers called Krishinovva, which we intend to expand across the country. This year we launched two Krishinovva Centres.
