Pesticide Manufacturers Move To Keep Endosulfan On Market

The Pesticide Manufacturers and Formulators Association of India (PMFAI) recently held a press conference in order to put a halt to a potential ban on endosulfan, a pesticide that was invented nearly 55 years agos ago, according to the Business Standard.

The European Union (EU) has been pushing for a global ban on the generic endosulfan and to designate the insecticide as a persistent organic pollutant.

However, opponents claim the evidence proving endosulfan is harmful is inconclusive.Endosulfan is the third largest selling insecticide globally, according to the Business Standard.
