Dow AgroSciences Expands Corn Research Facility

Dow AgroSciences LLC will expand its corn research station in Arlington, Wis., to accommodate the growing corn breeding program, according to the company.

The new site will include approximately 31,000 square feet of office buildings, seed processing and equipment storage. The Arlington corn research station focuses primarily on grain and silage corn hybrid development.

“This expansion will allow us to increase our research capabilities by adding additional testing and breeding efforts in Wis. along with expanding our full-time staff,” said Bruce Nagel, Dow AgroSciences research station site leader at Arlington in a statement.

The Arlington corn research station focuses on grain and silage corn hybrids for Dow’s seed affiliates and also does research with the trait introgression program along with support for product characterization, sales, production research and agronomy service groups, Nagel said.

The Arlington site has more than 10 full-time employees, plus a large number of seasonal and contract employees.
