Bancella Strengthens Its Team to Better Serve Industry Partners
19 March 2023 Aligned with its strategy and road map to create an Africa and Middle East platform, Bancella has announced added new talent to support its growth. These new recruitments will allow Bancella to provide a better services to its partners.
Bancella welcomes the following individuals to its team:
Marnus Van Heerden joins Bancella as Business Development Manager for the Northern Regions of South Africa. Holder of a BCom degree in Marketing Management from Boston City Campus and certified with Avcasa Crop Life SA, Basos from Fertasa and Seed Certification from Sansor. With 2 years of experience in the agrochemical industry as a R&D Technician for AgChem African (Rolfs Agri) and 6 years in the seed industry as Technical Marketing Manager from InteliSeed & InteliGro Morne will bring all his experience to you, our partner.
Additionally to new recruitments, Bancella values internal promotions and the development of its people. Pierre Noël joined Bancella in 2021 as Technical & Marketing Manager for Eastern Africa and Middle East. With Eastern Africa a real focus embedded in its road map, Pierre will be dedicated to supporting Bancella’s partners of this region as Business Manager EAF. In order to provide the best on the ground support he will relocate in Nairobi. Pierre holds a B.Sc Agricultural Science and with 7 years of experience in the ag industry as Production & Diversification Manager for tropical crops, vegetables, and horticulture with a focus on flowers and nursery plants.
To keep improving its support of its partners, especially with Strategic Sourcing, Jiufa Liu has joined Bancella as Procurement Manager based in China. With 20 years of experience in the agrochemical industry in China as Product Director, Marketing Director and General Manager of International Business Unit, Jiufa holds a degree in Physics and Management of Rural Economy. Jiufa brings a very deep knowledge of the supply environment and key stakeholders in China.
Nick Shead joins Bancella to support its AgTech Innovation and Digital Platform. Nick holds a Bachelors in Mechatronic Engineering from the University of Stellenbosch and has over 10 years’ experience in IT control systems including an experience on farm managing irrigation systems and more recently as Senior Investment Analyst with AgBioScout focusing on ag digital technologies (e.g., satellite technologies, plants sensors and related digital technologies, autonomous machinery, water management system).
Werner Piek also joins in the Digital Project. It is a clear direction for Bancella to support our partners thanks to the digitalization of our industry and the emergence of new tools supporting precision agriculture. Werner holds a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Management at The North West University and with 3 years experience managing and enrolling digital platforms within the Agricultural sector such as MyFarmWeb and Picklogger, Werner will allow Bancella to deploy the various digital innovations which are available in our portfolio of solutions.
Astrid Bouic has joined the team as Executive Assistant. Astrid brings 7 years of experience in the risk management and customer relations while performing the administration for the back office and middle office of a Corporate Treasury department including 4 years working with the Head of Treasury as Personal Assistant.
Kishita Sobha joins us as Accounting Assistant and will bring 4 years experience in accounting departments as Account Officer involved in various part of the Balance Sheet, as well as a high level for details and professionalism within team work.
David Abel will join in March as Procurement and S&OP manager. David holds a CPIM Basics of Supply Chain Management and has been involved in different stages of the supply chain over 20 years of experience in warehousing, procurement and sourcing, and logistics as Senior Functional Support and Logistics Officer. David will support the optimization of internal procedures with a big focus on S&OP as well as of supporting our partners with their own procedures when needed.
