Clariant To Open New Chinese Facility

Clariant, headquartered in Muttenz, Switzerland, will build an ethoxylation plant in Dayabay, China, according to Lesprom Network. The plant, expected to be operational in early 2011, will enable Clariant to meet increasing demand from the Chinese and wider Asian markets, the company said. The construction of this new facility is part of a US $100 million investment program in China, which Clariant has been committed to over the last 18 months.

The 80,000 square meter new plant will primarily serve domestic customers for a broad range of applications, including crop protection. With a capacity close to 50 thousand tones per year, the state-of-the-art plant will also supply important export markets across Asia using the very latest automation and environmental management technology.
