Flubendiamide Gets Japan Approval

For use on soybeans, fruits, vegetables, and tea, the insecicide will be sold in Japan for use against lepidopteran insects and will also be marketed by Nippon Soda as Nisso Phoenix WG.

Flubendiamide is being co-developed for global markets with Bayer CropScience. The product is the first of the phthalic acid diamides chemical group, which offers a novel mode of action. Some pests it controls are common cutworms, cotton bollworms, cabbage webworms, diamondback moths, and leafrollers, and its low toxic profile makes it suitable for integrated pest management (IPM) programs, according to Nihon Nohyaku.
